Sample Assessments

See more than whether the answer is right or wrong

LTD assessment samples help teachers notice the concept, representation and strategy behind a pupil response. Explore a diagnostic check-up or open task and see how the evidence can lead to a teaching decision.

Upload guidance: replace this placeholder with the final media. Keep the same aspect ratio and recommended filename so the page layout does not shift.

Diagnostic sample

Provide one carefully selected assessment that shows how questions are grouped by concept and how responses can indicate a particular misconception. Include a short teacher guide rather than presenting the pupil sheet alone.

Concept check-up sample

Choose a focused example, such as two-digit place value, additive strategies, multiplication structure or fraction equivalence. Explain when it could be used and what the teacher should look for.

Open assessment task

Include a task that allows more than one approach and a teacher guide that describes possible representations, strategies and evidence. This demonstrates that assessment can capture reasoning as well as accuracy.

How to use the result

The sample page should connect common findings with relevant LTD lessons or intervention content. Use careful language such as “may indicate” rather than diagnosing a pupil from one response.

What the free sample does not include

Be clear if the full collection, reporting, answer guidance or linked teaching is available only through membership or school access. Do not hide this until after download.
