Good planning shows how ideas develop, where important representations are introduced and what pupils need before the next step. LTD documents help teachers and maths leads see the whole path from Reception to Year 6.

Yearly overviews
Each overview provides a suggested sequence of topics and links to relevant LTD lessons. It should be presented as a planning starting point that schools can adapt to assessment, timetable and local curriculum decisions.
Topic progressions
Topic documents show how a concept develops across year groups. They are useful for identifying prerequisite learning, planning mixed-age classes and supporting pupils who need an earlier step revisited.
Curriculum mapping
The England mapping connects Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum content with LTD lessons. Each document should have a version number and review date so schools know which edition they are using.
Mixed-age planning
Mixed-age plans align related concepts and suggest common representations, shared whole-class teaching and differentiated independent expectations. Only publish combinations that have been completed and reviewed.
Whole-school scope and sequence
The scope and sequence helps leaders see the development of major concepts, strategies and representations across Reception to Year 6. It supports curriculum review and professional discussion, but does not replace the school’s responsibility for its final curriculum.
